Coaxial cable for satellite, cable TV and aerial systems

Choose by installation type

Coaxial cables vary in diameter, conductor design, attenuation, shielding and jacket material. For satellite IF, cable TV or terrestrial aerial systems, select cable suited to the frequency range, run length and installation environment.

Attenuation and shielding

Lower frequency-dependent attenuation helps on long cable runs. Effective shielding reduces susceptibility to external interference. A single dB marketing figure is not a substitute for the technical data sheet.

Indoor and outdoor use

A black or white jacket does not by itself prove UV or weather resistance. Check the manufacturer specifications for outdoor exposure, moisture and any required low-smoke or halogen-free properties.

Match connectors to cable dimensions

Compression and self-install connectors must suit the actual cable construction, including jacket, dielectric and centre conductor dimensions. For ready-made leads, check length and connector type.
