What makes compression connectors different?

An F compression connector is permanently secured to prepared coaxial cable with a suitable compression tool. When cable, connector and tool are correctly matched, the result is a mechanically stable connection.

Cable dimensions matter

F connectors are not universal. Different models fit different cable constructions and dimensions. RG59 or RG6 labels alone may not be enough: jacket, dielectric and centre conductor sizes must be checked.

Installation and outdoor protection

A suitable cable stripper and compatible compression tool help achieve a correct fit. Whether a connection is waterproof outdoors depends on the specific connector, proper installation and any additional weather protection required.

Compression versus self-install or twist-on

Compression types require a tool; self-install and twist-on connectors use different fixing methods. Choose according to cable compatibility, installation effort and environment.
