Satellite multiswitches: distribute signals to multiple tuners
What does 5/8 or 5/16 mean?
For conventional multiswitches, the first number commonly denotes inputs and the second subscriber outputs. A typical 5/8 model has four satellite plane inputs, one terrestrial input and eight outputs. Always verify the exact model specifications.
Quattro or Quad LNB?
Many conventional multiswitches require a Quattro LNB, while certain models explicitly support Quad LNBs. Compatibility depends on the manufacturer and switching design, not simply connector count.
Planning your installation
Count individual tuners and check satellite positions, power supply, cascade options and terrestrial signal integration. Cable length, signal levels and the distribution layout also matter.
How is Unicable different?
Unicable/JESS can supply multiple compatible tuners over a shared cable when the router, receiver and assigned user bands match. An ordinary multiswitch does not automatically provide this feature.
