DUR-line Profi XL – Run your satellite cable through a window without drilling
Want to connect the satellite dish on your balcony to the receiver in your living room without drilling through the wall or window frame? The DUR-line FD Profi XL satellite window feed-through connects your outdoor and indoor satellite cables through a suitable window or door frame.
The flat coaxial cable is carefully shaped to follow the frame. Its integrated aluminium core helps retain the adjusted shape and protects the coaxial conductor. The XL version provides a 34 cm cable length and a total length of 44 cm.
Two F sockets connect your outdoor and indoor satellite cables. DC pass-through allows the receiver's supply voltage to reach the LNB.
Your benefits at a glance
- No wall penetration: Route your satellite cable through a suitable window or door frame.
- XL version: 34 cm of cable provides additional routing flexibility.
- Flat cable section: 2 mm thick and 5 mm wide.
- Integrated aluminium core: Helps retain the adjusted shape and protects the coaxial conductor.
- Low signal loss: 0.85 dB insertion loss at 2200 MHz and a linear frequency response.
- Mechanically tested: Tested for up to 30,000 window closing cycles according to the manufacturer.
- Two mounting options: Secure the end pieces with adhesive pads or screws.

Installation: Positioning the window feed-through correctly
The illustrated guide shows the installation principle: open the window, shape the cable to follow the frame and then close it carefully. Green ticks show correct installation; red crosses show mistakes to avoid.
Simplified illustration. The actual cable routing depends on the window profile and available clearance. Click the image to enlarge.
- Choose a suitable position: Open the window or balcony door. Where possible, choose a window that is rarely opened and a position beneath the rubber seal with sufficient clearance. Keep hinges and locking mechanisms clear.
- Lay the cable flat without twisting: Guide the cable section along the frame profile with its flat side against the profile. Do not position it on its edge. Keep both F connection pieces outside the closing area.
- Shape it carefully: Use gentle bends to follow the frame. Avoid sharp kinks and repeated bending back and forth.
- Check the fit: Slowly close the window. If you feel strong resistance, do not force it shut; reposition the cable instead. Open the window again and check for excessive crushing or damage.
- Secure the end pieces: Only secure them after checking the fit. Apply the adhesive pads to a clean, dry and suitable surface, or use screws on an appropriate mounting surface.
- Connect the satellite cables: Connect your cables to the two F sockets. Avoid tension on the feed-through and protect outdoor connections against moisture.
Important usage information
- Before installation, check that the window or door frame provides sufficient clearance for the feed-through.
- Do not cut or modify the window seal. The aluminium core does not replace a careful fit check.
- Avoid excessive crushing, sharp bends and tensile stress. Inspect the cable regularly.
- No drilling is required to route the cable through the frame. Securing the end pieces with screws may require drilling into the mounting surface.
- The figure of 30,000 window closing cycles is a manufacturer's test result, not a universal service life guarantee for every installation.
Frequently asked questions
How can I run a satellite cable through a window without drilling?
A flat window feed-through connects your outdoor and indoor satellite cables through a suitable window frame. Connect the cables to its two F sockets. No hole through the wall or frame is required.
Can I still close the window?
Yes, provided the frame has sufficient clearance and the cable is positioned correctly. Close the window slowly without forcing it. Reposition the cable if you feel strong resistance.
How should the feed-through sit in the frame?
Lay the cable section flat along the frame profile without twisting it, using gentle bends. Keep the connection pieces outside the closing area. The illustrated installation guide shows the principle.
Is the total length 34 cm?
No. The cable length is 34 cm. Including the connection sections, the total length is 44 cm according to the manufacturer.
Which cables fit the connections?
The feed-through has two F sockets. You need coaxial cables with suitable F plugs.
Can I use it on a balcony door?
Yes, if the frame provides sufficient clearance and does not excessively crush the cable when closing. Also check whether the cable is long enough to follow the frame.
What is the aluminium core for?
It helps retain the shape adjusted to the frame and protects the coaxial conductor against mechanical stress.
