This SAT splitter with priority switching allows you to connect 2 SAT receivers to just one satellite cable. It is ideal when only one SAT outlet or antenna cable is available, for example when you want to use a TV with an integrated satellite tuner together with an additional SAT receiver.

How the SAT Priority Switch Works
The splitter has a Master and a Slave port. The Master has priority and determines which satellite reception level is used. Switching is electronic and automatic.
Receiver 1 Determines the Reception Level
The SAT receiver or television connected to the Master output is the priority device.
As long as the Master is switched on and supplies LNB control voltage, it determines the active satellite reception level (VL, VH, HL or HH).
Receiver 2 Can Be Used at the Same Time
The second SAT receiver connected to the Slave output can also receive a satellite signal while the Master is switched on.
However, it is limited to the satellite reception level selected by the Master and can only receive channels available on the same level.
Important Information About Standby Mode
Some televisions and SAT receivers continue to supply LNB voltage through the satellite connection even in standby mode.
In this case, the priority switch still detects the Master as active. The Slave therefore does not yet have full control of the satellite cable and cannot select the reception level independently.
When Is a SAT Priority Switch Useful?
The priority switch is particularly useful when only one satellite cable is available but two receiving devices need to be connected.

There is no need to constantly reconnect the satellite cable between the devices. Master/Slave control is automatic.
What Do VL, VH, HL and HH Mean?
Satellite channels are transmitted on different reception levels. A conventional satellite system uses four main levels:
- VL – Vertical Low
- VH – Vertical High
- HL – Horizontal Low
- HH – Horizontal High
A SAT receiver automatically requests the reception level required for the selected channel from the LNB. With this priority switch, the Master controls this selection as long as it is active.
The Slave can receive channels at the same time, but only channels located on the same reception level selected by the Master. This process is automatic and requires no manual settings on the priority switch.
What Is the Difference from a Standard SAT Splitter?
This product is not a simple passive SAT splitter. It is a SAT splitter with automatic Master/Slave priority switching.
When the Master is switched on, it determines the satellite reception level. The Slave can receive channels at the same time, but is limited to the same reception level selected by the Master.
Only when the Master port has 0 V DC does the Slave gain full control of the satellite cable and can select the required reception level itself.

Can I connect 2 SAT receivers to one satellite cable?
Yes. This SAT priority switch allows two SAT receivers, or a TV with an integrated satellite tuner and an additional receiver, to be connected to one existing satellite cable. The device connected to the Master port has priority.
Can both SAT receivers be used at the same time?
Yes, with limitations. While the Master is switched on, both receivers can receive a satellite signal at the same time. However, the Slave is limited to the satellite reception level selected by the Master.
Can both SAT receivers watch different channels at the same time?
Yes, if the channels are on the same reception level. While the Master is switched on, it determines the active satellite reception level. The Slave can receive a different channel at the same time as long as that channel is also on the same level.
The four standard satellite reception levels are VL (Vertical Low), VH (Vertical High), HL (Horizontal Low) and HH (Horizontal High).
When the Master no longer supplies LNB control voltage (0 V DC), the Slave can select the reception level independently.
Why are some channels available on the second receiver while others are not?
When the Master is switched on, it determines which satellite reception level is active. The second receiver connected to the Slave port can therefore only receive channels that are available on the same reception level.
This is why some channels may work on the Slave while others temporarily show no signal. Once the Master is completely switched off and no longer supplies LNB voltage, the Slave can select the required reception level itself.
How does the Master/Slave switching work?
The receiver connected to the Master has priority and determines the satellite reception level. The Slave can use the same active reception level.
When the Master port has 0 V DC, the Slave gains control of the satellite cable and can select the required reception level itself.
Can I connect a TV and SAT receiver to one satellite outlet?
Yes. For example, a television with an integrated DVB-S/DVB-S2 satellite tuner can be connected to the Master port and an additional SAT receiver to the Slave port.
Does the SAT splitter switch automatically?
Yes. The switching is electronic and automatic. No manual settings on the priority switch are required.
Do I have to reconnect the satellite cable between the devices?
No. Both devices remain permanently connected to the priority switch. There is no need to manually reconnect the satellite cable between the TV and receiver.
When can the Slave receive all available channels?
When the Master no longer supplies LNB control voltage and the Master port has 0 V DC, the Slave can select the required reception level itself and is no longer restricted to the level previously selected by the Master.
Does switching work when the Master is in standby?
This depends on the connected television or receiver. If the Master device no longer supplies LNB voltage in standby, the Slave can take full control of the satellite cable.
Some devices continue to supply voltage through the satellite connection even in standby. In this case, the priority switch still detects the Master as active and the Slave cannot select the reception level independently.
Is this priority switch the same as a standard SAT splitter?
No. A standard passive SAT splitter does not provide defined Master/Slave priority. This SAT splitter gives priority to the Master port and allows the Slave to use the reception level selected by the Master.
Does the SAT priority switch require a power supply?
No. A separate power supply is not required. The switch is controlled through the satellite connection and the LNB control voltage supplied by the connected receiver.
Is installation complicated?
No. Connect the incoming satellite cable to the priority switch, connect the preferred main device to Master and the second device to Slave. No additional settings on the priority switch are required.
